My apologies for stepping away from craft talk but I wanted to share something special. I was given the link to this video advert on facebook and just had to share it as much as I possibly could. Autism comes in different forms and the one that has affected my family is Aspergers. Our 13 yo son has Aspergers – we have always known, and he is an absolute delight to have in our lives. But this message is more poignant to me because just recently we realised that my husband also has Aspergers. It isn’t always blaringly obvious but having the awareness of it now makes life so much more enjoyable and far less frustrating because awareness is knowledge and knowledge gives you the ability to accept differences. I have never allowed my son to be ashamed of his differences but be ever so proud of them and what they mean in his life and ours. It’s just unfortunate that others see differences as something that should be ridiculed or attacked. If there were more children like my son, the world would be a far better place. Hi scrappy people Here’s a little layout that I did for The Color Room Palette #12 using the Montana Tree Small as well as the Frame Swirl Small….
I chose to leave the Laser Cuts in their raw state for this layout because it just really suited the theme of the layout. The Frame Swirl was a last minute addition and it wouldn’t actually fit into my flower cluster. So I simply cut the frame part of it away with my craft scissors just leaving the flourish part of it and it fit perfectly!! While these fabulous laser cuts are sturdy and can take a beating they are still able to be cut up if you need to. I just love that about them. Thanks for looking. Belinda An old friend dropped by today to pick up some baby bunnies off my husband (FB: Bayles Bunnies) for herself and her son and it was sooo nice to just chat and share goss again. Haven’t really seen eachother for a year or two, for any length of time. It goes to show you don’t have to see your friends all the time but when you catch up and just share some space together it feels like it was only yesterday. Sooo nice ![]() Acrylic Wall Frames You can see all the photos of these frames on our FB page: RW Laser Cuts
Hi scrappers Thought I’d share a layout I made documenting my son’s love of pulling faces whenever the camera is pointed his way. You’ve gotta laugh….
I really wanted to use product on this layout that would give the illusion of the wind blowing so I used some blue Tim Holtz Idea-ology paper which had some lovely subtle flourishes through it. The blue represents the colour of the sky too. On top of that I layered the Raffle Leaf Hambly Screen Print. I just love the flourishes on that too to create the look of the wind blowing. I have also added an RW Laser Cuts Scroll Branch which I left au naturale. I love the design of the scrolls on this branch and they really go well with all the flourishes happening on the page. I added some leaves to it that I cut from some scrap paper I had in my stash. Again to create the look of wind one of the leaves is not attached to the branch so it looks like it has blown loose. I also cut a couple of hot air balloons from some Webster’s Pages pattern paper and added some flower clusters to those. See ya next time scrappy people. Belinda Hi scrappers I had a little play with the Ebony Major Corner 2 (K09491) this week…
…So I used the GCD Studios Artsy Urban Book Page and Coloured Birds patterned papers on this layout. I actually used the reverse of the Book Page pp. and both sides of the Coloured Birds pp. I found that the white on the Coloured Birds pp was a little too stark for my layout so I softened it by rubbing in some Antique Linen Distress Ink. Also used Shabby Shutters, Fired Brick and Black Soot Distress Inks on this layout. I decided to leave the Ebony Cut unaltered because the black coordinated so well with the layout. All I did was dress it up a bit with some flowers and a butterfly. It really provides an ideal framework for this. Other products I used on this layout include: October Afternoon Farm Fresh Wild Cards, Prima Homespun Flowers, Jenni Bowlin Studio Embelllished Butterflies and My Mind’s Eye Lush Flocked Alphabet. I also used a bit of red spotty fabric that I had in my stash. Thanks for looking and I’ll be back soon with a mystery share. (It’s a mystery because I haven’t done it yet!! LOL) Belinda Annie has been saying for ages to me how she luurves Glimmermist on our Laser Cuts. Well I finally got to use some on the weekend on a special project and wanted to share a little bit of it where I used a gold metallic glimmermist on Ebony Butterflies… See for yourself how good it looks! Oh and stay tuned for the full reveal of this project ![]() Gold Glimmermist on Ebony Butterflies Hi All Thought I would share with you a quick ATC I made yesterday featuring an RW Laser Cuts frame….
The base of the ATC is some Kraft cut to size. On top of that is a piece of white Bazzill on which I have stamped an image using Distress Embossing Ink and then heat set some clear UTEE. Next I rubbed in various Distress Inks with a sponge: Bundled Sage, Tumbled Glass and Tattered Rose. I inked around the edge with Victorian Velvet. (Aren’t the names of the Distress Inks glorious? You can never have too many!! That’s my motto anyway. LOL) Next I cut out an image from a Crafty Secrets Heartwarming Vintage sheet. The edges of that were inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink and then I applied Rock Candy Distress Crackle over the top. Once dry that was stuck down on top of the embossed and inked piece and the RW Laser Cuts frame added on top to highlight the main focus of the image. I kept the frame in its raw state because it coordinated really well with the Kraft base and the lovely soft, muted colours of the ATC. I finished it off by simple adding a corner cluster of flower, leaves and a Heidi Grace stick pin. The quote was also cut from the Heartwarming Vintage sheet and the edges inked with Vintage Photo. Thanks for looking and I’ll be back with a layout to share soon. Belinda |
